Influence of test parameters to the air filter efficiency
Most common test aerosols used in air filtration standards are DEHS, NaCl, KCl and the ISO A2 fine dust (ISO 12103-1). The equipment to measure particle size and concentration up- and downstream of the filter varies. Commonly used are either optical aerosol spectrometers or differential mobility particle analyzers. A newly built dual channel test bench allows a direct comparison of different filters, where one channel is mainly used for DEHS and NaCl/KCl and the other channel for dust loading to avoid contamination by dust residuals.
